They often hand over their ID cards and SASSA cards to loan sharks who hold on to them and use it for MRR when they can't pay it back. Normal interest rates for credit cards are about 20% and credit account cards for clothing stores are usually over 30%. About 1/6 (10m) of the population are illegal African migrants who take up space in free hospitals and schools.

I earn about $50k a year and am considered basically lower middle class. Parts of the country are pretty much first world and their pay reflects that. If you're earning a salary your tax gets automatically deducted before you receive your paycheque. Highest tax bracket is 45%, I'm on about 40%.

No, we've already passed the apex on the Laffer curve. People with money are moving it out of the country.
Cost of living is much lower than the west though, we have very good private healthcare and education - but those are considered 'grudge taxes' and aren't cheap. As a single man I spend about $150 a week on food, but the quality is good and there's lots of meat. Your average bantu subsists mainly on chicken gizzards and maize porridge.

No I think the bantu tribes are gearing up for a civil war and the whites will mainly stay out of it. There are still too many white people to have it become a Zimbabwe scenario. There are more privately owned guns in civilian hands than the police and army combined. Plus we grow all the food for Sub Saharan Africa. Even the Zimbabwean govt says they don't consider Afrikaners to be colonists.

Patronage. If their guy is in power their people get the gibs. Mandela was a Xhosa and the Zulus never liked being governed by one of the subjugated tribes. Ethnicities are very much split between provincial boundaries.
