This particular object of wood was dispatched to me by Executors of a Will, after the sudden but not unexpected death of my beloved grandfather, a USMC veteran of the Great War, whom (as family legend claims) recovered said object off the deceased remains of an honorable nipponese enemy officer at the battle of Iwo Jima. I implore you, Sirs, to discuss the value of this crudely manufactured box, without prejudice.

I mean, it looks like a post-colonial Hollingsworth. Extremely rare, and can’t imagine how a British box could get to Japan. I’ve rarely seen this type of (steamed) wrapped wood fingerbox, anon. Are the internals intact (I assume the rubber phalange gaskets need replace)?
