but Civilization has progressed to reduce those tendencies
Civilized behavior is an effort at human self-domestication
To breed out aggressive behaviors to promote docile and intelligent behaviors instead
but it hasn't been enough
evolution is strong, and the human mind struggles to break free of primitive or animalistic tendencies, yet people persist in their pursuits
Perhaps if we were more honest with ourselves for possessing such violent instincts, it would work better
Even what you said
>Its tribalism and survival you dumb nigger. There is limited resources and if you leave yours open someone will forcefully take it so they do not starve. You admit it, but then why don't most people OPENLY say this?
Instead it is the justification, we are "Good, moral, in the right, and are enemies are evil, bad, in the wrong."
Why not cut the bullshit and admit firmly "It is all about survival, the morality and justifications are bullshit, we want to kill them to take their land and resources." and so on
What prevents such admission from bein mainstream, why do humans feel the need to delude ourselves around morality and ethics, if our behavior for violence is advantageous for survival
why play pretend and larp as civilized people with politics and posturing, instead of being honest anymore?
There is a reason, people cannot just openly say the goal is to kill to take resources, instead we wrap it up in something greater, WE are greater, WE are justified, THEY are evil
Humans have to convince themselves these days that killing must be "Justified" instead of admitting the survival aspects of killing
Not just Thailand or Cambodia, but globally
We have to convince ourselves of these tales we tell ourselves, these myths, these stories, instead of confronting our instincts for violence and desire to kill others as a method of achieving goals
