Honestly I wanted the deportations or more accurately not let migrant labor undercut American wages, but Trump's implementation is ass. Optics matter. His approach is heavy handed and inelegant. I would have focused on making it difficult to stay here so that they self deport. So I have to choose between an ugly policy in the direction that I want, or the opposite of that policy where Venezuelans take over buildings with no response from law enforcement. It sucks.
