>>511423890>what do you think about the Gripen E being able to fully fight without any human interaction with their AI system? They're maybe the first to make it public... ;)
I'm not a 'fan' of the *buzzword* AI, I hope it is precisely that, and just remote-controlled/autonomous autopilot, because you do not want 'fuzzy logic' AI to be flying, you want *deterministic* logic.
It's the way forward, there was no manpower, resources or time wasted researching and developing that.
The Russians, with their T-14 Armata MBT, are experimenting with remote-control on a ground-vehicle. From remote-control by a human to an 'AI' system is then just a technicality.
Also, crew loss is worse than plane loss, planes can be replaced in three days to months, pilot training takes years, the same, as well, with tank crews.
Also, regarding MBTs, with drones and modern ATGMs, they first should all be upgraded with APSs before being sent out into the field.
Also, those spec-ops rifles with underslung shotguns gained another niche capability with small FPV drones becoming ubiquitous.
