/pol/ used to be highly influential in shifting the online consensus on political issues. A huge portion of popular memes on the wider web had their origins here.

Glowies have been desperately trying to harness the power here to their own ends, even as 4chan's influence has waned. The idea is to get young Americans excited about killing Russians, or at least apathetic about us propping up Ukraine.
