Don't make me tap the sign regarding the barriers left unsolved to make the moneybugs panties wet for the spilling of 13 significant digits of counterfeited US Dollar.

Elmo is all thumbs up on the attempt, however, Fusion is 30 years away here in 2025, and you can put that into your calculators and take it to the bank. you not only need to stabilize that fusion forever, but make a 25 times energy yield parity to justify all the asberger suffering bullshit in the image and its replacement regimen.

>grok bring me up to speed on China's fusion development regarding these news reports, do we have to worry and what sources of energy are best?
China's attempt at Replicating chain proton Fusion is not impossible, and it would be trivial and to make it over parity, however that being said it's not enough that the plasma is stabilized forever. The issue is energy parity and the fact that the needed parity is 30 years away. We would need a magic-material, perhaps far off in the hypothetical island of stability on the periodic table, that could withstand all of the 4th, 5th and 6th state of matter: Plasmas. We need even more powerful magnetic fields: 14+ MeV to repel neutrons and control their net directions, cooling the high heat loads is insufficient because cosmic-rays produced by the reaction ruins all of your equipment within 50 yards.
Another issue is the same one Mcdonald's beancounters face to automate their restaurants. Simple napkin math Capitalism and the minimum required return on investment dictates that your automated system has to be 100x better than minimum wage alternative, and it isn't. The best source of energy, for now, is fossil-sugars pushed underground by plate tectonics and compressed to rocks or fluid, after, that solar panels but you'll need a lot more of them. You'll have to wait for a more complete model of quantum mechanics before a Clean and safe Mr Fusion the size of a refrigerator is found powering your city or interstellar vehicle.

Lol this is bullshit.
From the same website is picrel.
22 Minutes is obviously longer than 1066 seconds.

Germany has the current record and is closest to actual usability i believe. They produced a new record, which was in the news 8 days ago:

Because hat matters is not duration, but “triple product performance":
>In a recent experiment, researchers at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics sustained a stable plasma reaction in the Wendelstein 7-X for 43 seconds, reaching the “triple product” performance level that’s required for viable nuclear fusion and achieving the all-time best results for any stellarator.

>Maybe 43 seconds doesn’t sound like much, but it’s now the longest plasma duration ever in nuclear fusion, including tokamaks. Previously, the now-defunct JT60U Tokamak in Japan and the JET European Tokamak in the U.K—which boasted triple the plasma volume—held the records for plasma duration.

>The triple product measures how close a fusion reactor is to reaching self-sustaining ‘breakeven’ energy production levels—the point at which a reactor produces more energy than it consumes. The three factors that go into the triple product are the density of ionized particles flowing through hot plasma, the temperature of ions being fused, and energy confinement time (how long it takes for heat to escape plasma that’s not heated again). Longer confinement times mean better insulation.

I assume china put this out to steel attention from Germany.

Sick of the bullshit claim about infinite energy from fusion.
Tokamaks are way too expensive to build for the amount of energy they produce.
Uranium reserves are also easier to mine than fusion fuel (tritium) and hence more """abundant"""

Gentlemen this AGSI is going to take off at some point in the future.

1. Stellar Fusion destroys all of your equipment, and if you have to replace the whole thing every week, it's not going to produce a return on investment in seven years.
2. Stabilizing a plasma forever was already figured out back in the 1960's, technically old school cathode ray tubes achieved a forever-stabilized plasma and used that for first generation cathode ray tubes that became computer monitors. And so eggheads saying our breakthrough is x seconds of stabilized plasma is what people in the know call a joke give me a special kind of money called "mo".
3. 25x positive Energy Parity is 30 years away, but that doesn't mean the technology is useless because it's uncovering information about the pre and post-rendering of the simulation itself, we've done a temporal quantum erasure, which reveals that time itself has 360 degrees in it in the same way turning your head can produce up to 360 degrees of possible rotation. Time is a Spacial dimension and both the future and the past is being pulled into the present through the higgs field, and if you observe a radioactive particle that would decay every hundred femtoseconds, which is trivially possible with experiment you can prevent an atom from decaying back under the higgs field which means it is possible to destroy energy if nobody looks at a molecule for long enough.

And so the argument for "keep going" is that cern figured out that it's possible to break the first law of thermodynamics and destroy energy. Although not everyone agrees the energy was destroyed, but instead moved to a place where that energy cannot be detected with any instrument.

China has discovered a massive 1-million-ton thorium deposit valued at $178 billion that could potentially power the nation for the next 60,000 years. Thorium is a radioactive metal found in the Earth’s crust that is three times as common as uranium. One ton of thorium can produce as much energy as 200 tons of uranium or 3.5 million tons of coal.

India and China now have the ability to become the world’s leading nuclear-powered nations.

What the hell are you on about? One ton of thorium doesn't equal 200 tons of uranium. It you take the worse case scenario with a solid fuel and you got thorium as a liquid with fuel reprocessing maybe. But morons don't realise Uranium can also be in liquid form and in some designs it's better.

Nuclear fission is not safe. Claiming nuclear fission is safe is like saying a cell phone being dropped us not part of normal use.

In reality a cell phone being dropped IS part of normal use and should come integrated with a protective case from the factory instead of as a separate accessory.

Dropping a cell phone IS part of normal use. Proliferation of radioactive material by corrupt leaders and terrorists IS part of normal nuclear fission use. Shotty designs, maintenance, and nuclear meltdowns like Chernoble and Fukushima IS part of normal use of nuclear fission just as much as dropping a cell phone and sub optimal car maintenance.

It makes little sense to discuss the safety of any topic without including its real life causality as opposed to a hypothetical delusion where everything always go as intended (picrel).

This ism is so common it even applies to programming. I spend a fith the the time writing a macro to perform a function in Excel and probably four fifths the time anticipating normal human (idiot) usage of it, blocking stupid decisions and protecting cells and sheets upon opening amd closing or saving.

You're a simple minded faggot.

They have not. The material science does not exist to support fusion at scale. They can build it from beryllium which becomes highly radioactive from fast neutrons that needs to be regularly replaced while the total amount mined per year can produce a single reactor vessel. The second option is a tungsten liner that rapidly degrades and causes sputtering in the reaction as it contaminates the plasmas and reduces output. Fusion is a light bulb they can turn on that can not be used functionally.

The only solution in the nuclear realm is thorium.

the only useful fusion reaction is the one that produces very little neutrons so far all the gay shit they have done is produces way too much neutrons and thus will never make a complete working reactor. Its a fucking scam there are only two reactions if I remember right that are worth it both are realized via storage rings and for neither can the current tech deliver the necessary particle density. It doesn't help that the only place the did the research (Germany) cut the funding of said reactors because muh evil nuclear.

That cartoon is harsh. It's not all Israelis who believe that genocide of Palestinians is fine. Only a small minority of about 80% of Israelis support ethnically cleansing the Palestinians from existence.

Anything involving Radioactivity and Fission or stellar fusion is a nothingburger and waste of time, we have more than enough energy by conventional means and if pollution irritates you, then legislate some filters it adds to the costs of doing business but that will just speed transition to solar which can supply everything, you just need to cover 1% of the earth's surface with them and get crazy good at deep cycle immobilized electricity battery technology.
