One of the main reasons why Christianity is not popular in the West is because there is great sexual repression, especially against men.
Modern Christianity is based too much on the prohibition of masturbation and the prohibition of sex before marriage, primarily directed towards men.
It also fails to control female sexuality.
In the US, many churches are fighting to have "reformed" prostitutes, porn stars, and onlyfans models in their ranks. Which further highlights the double standard.
The Church in the Middle Ages had the concept of lessor-sins. And it wasn't that strict about male (natural) sexuality.
