>>511437563 (OP)>Indians earn more than average>a key reason is their STEM degreesEach of these points is simultaneously true, and also indicative of the issues with the Indian migrant population. It is true that Indians have a greater amount of STEM degrees per capita when compared to the native population; however, a SIGNIFICANT amount of those degrees are from Indian schools who provide a substandard education (if they aren't outright diploma mills). If you have worked in STEM, this is extremely obvious. It is not infrequent to have Indians with an MSc or PhD in a subject to confidently explain foundational concepts in a completely erroneous way. I have experienced this in both the Chemistry and IT fields. Just last week I had an MSc in CompSci tell me 0=null. He's in charge of a department and was hired and promoted by his predecessor, also an Indian.
This brings me to the other side of the issue: ethnic nepotism. I have witnessed this happen at a number of companies, and it always happens the same way. An Indian becomes a hiring manager. Suddenly, the only interview candidates and new hires are all Indian. The Indians immediately revert to a caste based system based on titles. Eventually, it is completely insufferable to work in the group and the original members of the group (who are carrying the workload at this point) leave; they are replaced by more Indians. Qualifications simply don't matter, or are easily obtained in India. They'll accept lower pay for high paying positions, and are escalated into these positions by a framework of ethnic nepotism, misrepresentation, and a cultural tradition of treating hard work more like a performance than an actual task at hand.
