I remember the lobster tank at the grocery store. They would rubber band their claws so they didn't violently murder each other.

Never forget what they took from you bros.

the lobster tank smelled horrible. I assume that's the reason why they finally did away with it.

People had more agency, much more privacy, a level of uncertainty that wasn't chaos, reasonably comfortable lives, and media saturation and social media didn't exist.
We generally weren't aware of others' opinions, shit going on elsewhere in the world, etc.
You didn't go into a store armed with 100 reviews. You didn't rent a movie after reading 100 critiques of it first. You didn't always know where you were going when you went out, unless you had a fucking map in your back pocket.
There was much more novelty and rolling with the punches, and the media was a bit more tempered. Like, fucking Oprah used to have opponents battle it out on her show. The TV used to tell you to go outside and get some exercise. You wee expected to spend no more than the length of one movie sitting in front of a screen per day. There was grass to touch. Also, there were no shitskins.

Those were cool time periods. Companies would just create shit for the sake of it and experiment with tech. Everything has since become streamlined and sterile.

I miss going to the video store with my mom or my friends and just browsing the aisles on a Friday night. Such anticipation that hopefully that new release you wanted would have a copy. Or maybe you would browse older movies and read the back of boxes, looking for something more obscure. Everyone would be in such a good mood, because it was Friday night.
Streaming isn't the same at all. It doesn't satisfy.
