instead of just not having been an autonomous region in all of human history, they will soon be free to not exist at all because hamas can't stop sacrificing their own.

if palestine wants to be free, it needs to be free from hamas. israel will make sure hamas goes down. it's entirely up to hamas how big the civil casualty count will be.
and when we remember how german civil casualties in WW2 were much larger and still not considered a genocide, i think it's safe to say that israel can continue this pretty much forever. even the saudis have left hamas to die.
