Every time I have to sit at an empty intersection and stare at a stupid red light I get FUCKIN PISSED.

They're great for low-volume roads, but they absolutely fuck up main roadways. Here in Idaho you'll see them at rural intersections and inside neighborhoods, but we use traffic lights for the main roads. I once drove through a traffic circle in Seattle where it was built on a main road and traffic was backed up almost half a mile.
