In fact I have another example; it was part of this aforementioned stretch of Autobahn, the Nursoda Bridge.
Nursoda because it's "nur so da", just for fun. It didn't lead anywhere because they didn't build the fucking tunnel to connect it until 20 or 30 years later or so. In other words for 20 or 30 years you could have taken pictures of this empty bridge, because the route it belonged to wasn't finished. And finishing routes can take years easily, in difficult terrain.
They even had to refurbish this bridge before it was ever used, as part of opening the highway.
What the Chinese have is empty tower blocks, sure, but I don't know the current state of this situation, since they have been working to fix it. In part thanks to the collapse of that real estate firm whatever.
