Is this flag based or cringe?

To some, this flag represents a better time before gun bans, mass immigration, and homosexuality.

To others, its the first step towards a post-national globohomo world.

The flag contains emblems of different nations together on the same flag, sharing the same land and working together under the same government. But today, if people suggest something like a unified north america, it is (correctly) called globalism.

It represents a lot of our history, both the good and the bad. There's no need to be ashamed of history, history exists to be learned from, to remember and honour the good that was done and to understand why and how the bad can be avoided in the future.

But most of all, it's the flag that represents a Canada who was just a part of a larger empire, whose parliament deferred to Britain on all matters of foreign policy and whose resources existed solely to enrich distant masters. It is not the flag of a free and independent Canada, and that's why the flag was changed.

Reactionaries using the old flag as some white supremacist dogwhistle are just embarrassing, but they're also far too niche and obscure of a voice to demonize the entire flag or its long, complicated history.

The red Ensign is a Canadian white nationalist hate simbol.

It stands for a monocultureal Canada, where Canadians are English,French,Scott,Irish and French, as depicted on the crest.

These guys specifically use a black ensign as their flag.
