Does Trump/MAGA know what a subsidy is?
He has been burning down the US economy in the name of "fairness" in trade but a tariff is only half the equation. A tariff discourages market competition by forcing consumers to pay higher prices on goods. A subsidy discourages market competition by forcing to citizen tax dollars to give "free" money to domestic corporations. For example, Elon Musk is only successful due to tax payers giving hundreds of billions of dollars over the last decade.
It is trivial for a country to sign a treaty on tariffs and then completely negate the consequences by adjusting their subsidies yet I've never heard the word "subsidy" from Trump except when threatening Elon. Do you know what a subsidy is?
