Hispanics were far more brutal than Anglos. They even used Negros as henchmen against Natives in certain parts (very unfair). Anglos pretty much only killed off Comanches and other tribes that were violent and assaulted civilians who were settling west and such. Keep in mind the North was barely populated at the time of European arrival while today's Mexico and below had megacities like Tenochtitlan. Even after the decimation of millions because of diseases there were still too many to just kill off or something.
