You have to go to court to get anything, even if you're very obviously disabled. Pretty much everyone seems to get zero points straight away. People think it's a walk in the park getting it, it isn't, legitimate or not. See if there's any local charities or citizen advice centres, get them to help you with the form, they know how to word it properly. But you still need to go to court, but they can help with that. You can certainly get some pip lad but it is a bit of a pain in the arse.

You can 100% get PIP. Even if you technically can walk x amount of meters that doesn't mean it's going to be without issue. I'd strongly recommending looking into it again, and get someone who knows their shit to word the application form, since when it goes to court they can only refer back to what was written on the form. It depends on who you are doing it for and what exactly they are doing with it. If you are going out after a cable strike or a flood or a storm then they want it doing yesterday. If it’s plot work or for a large residential development that’s also time sensitive, but you are basically paid per premises passed. For planned works it is less money but there’s no surprises either.

There’s other stuff too (anything Network Rail, airports, subaqueous cabling, bridges, motorways) that can also pay more money. It is not perfect and there are drawbacks and there is more money in certain aspects of jointing but it’s a good earner overall
