Dating is a lot less explorative and more objective with certain needs in mind. Its much less of figuring out or how to do things, but just kind of agreeing okay we're gonna do this now. You also have the stress of adult responsibilities, bills, jobs, etc making you have to be a lot more pragmatic about everything rather than just living in the moment and not caring about whether there may be consequences to your actions.

Thats not to say love and romance isnt enjoyable in later stages of life - but teen/student love really is something magic and can only be experienced once.
