Your arrogance is unfounded; because China isnโt just building jets, theyโre building schools that turn out people who can make jets, theyโre building factories, they have their own processors and everything else, zero dependence on the outside world for anything except raw resources (which are commodities they can buy from multiple sources).
Meanwhile the F-35 project has been perfectly exemplar of how we are failing in the west. Shitty plane, cost overruns, nobody really likes it, fragile national agreements are straining the project, and it may very well already be obsolete.
