It's actually quite ironic, there are very few trash cans throughout cities due to terror attacks in the 90s, but even so the country has always been orderly and extremely clean. My wife and I visit for a few weeks once or twice a year, and this past time in March it was surprisingly bad. Tokyo was still alright for the most part, but Osaka had trash overflowing in multiple areas, and they had jeets throughout many businesses working the registers. I had never seen that before, I'm really quite worried about it because Japan is the only country left for us that is advanced while also being orderly, clean, and generally quiet. It seems like the decay of liberalism is starting to slip in.
