And you're really going to want SOME sort of hardware accelerated video decode with that ancient opteron. The 2000+ series of amd cards can do 1080p h264... but that's about it.
You will need a fucking Navi card or newer to do vp9, which basically youtube does exclusively now. There's no fucking way that CPU decode is going to work for vp9 at 1080p on that cpu either.

At least PCI to PCIE adapaters work (star-tech has an OK one). Its gonna be a huge bottleneck, since it's basically limited to pcie 1x speeds... but at least you can use a "modern" gpu in it. For stuff like hardware accelerated video decode or using the card to drive 4k monitors it will be fine. It's not like that CPU isn't going to be a massive bottleneck either.

Got openBSD running on it. My eventual goal is to get enough of Radeon drivers running (either in linux or openbsd) to actually use a modern GPU on it.
Openbsd has some issues regarding interrupt handlers with radeon drivers on SGI, so that's a no-go currently. Maybe i'll get it working with T2SDE linux.

At least networking cards and USB3.0 cards work flawlessly out of the box in openbsd. Gigabit Ethernet is quite the upgrade from the stock 10mbit setup.

I foubd the ibm t60 to be sufficient for all of my web related needs. I have a dell precision m6800 with a quadro k4100m and 32gb ram for everything else offline. Wifi card has been pulled from both so im hardline only on the t60.

1) I had a fake domestic arrest 9 years ago (charges dismissed) - they say I'm guilty anyway
2) I wallpapered my bedroom with aluminum foil to block line-of-sight to 5G and WiFi transmitters that are potentially dangerous - they say this makes me dangerously insane
3) I had politically objectionable text and gore pictures on my computer - they literally said my political beliefs make me a danger and justify the revocation of my right to bear arms, as though the first amendment doesn't exist
4) My hard drive had the title "Terrorism Plans" as a joke - they say that because my 4chan folder had a file path including this name (even though it was several levels down in various other folders) this is proof that the gore and text files constitute a plan to commit terrorism
