I bought a pack of 20 stainless steel stamped ones. I spray painted them black and used them on a few peoples car tires. They back up and all 4 tires can be totally fucked.

The best use for these would be to have a remote dispenser on your car or bike, such that you can deploy them if a road pirate (aka law enforcement) tries to assault you.

It is probably better to ride until you get to a narrow road, slow down and deploy them, then take off again.

Dropping them at high speed 70+ MPH would cause them to bounce erratically and may even end up hitting your own tires.

If you cannot find ones that are hollow, you can weld a bolt or washers to the center to give them weight. The idea here being that non-hollow caltrops won't cause tires to deflate unless they fall out. That extra weight would increase the chances of them being flung out of the tire once it gets going fast enough.

Alternative option, connect the caltrops to a chain so that when the chain is run over, it wraps around the wheel and acts like a weedwacker shredding the wheel well, disabling the pursuer that is attempting to attack you.
