There's 3 things going on with this story.
1.) The statue, it isn't of great significance to Danmark. It is mariner art though, and entirely appropriate in a harbor village within sight of the harbor line.
2.) You have a Marxist problem and they're creeping in. First its the less significant statues, but especially on the grounds of 'racism'. Then its the actual significant landmarks, where they will also say it is on grounds of 'racism'.
The social conditioning of making it about 'racism' is that racism is being verbotten. They are not simply tearing down your statues. They are tearing down your ability to defend your people.
3.) Someone calling statues of Danish women (mermaid or otherwise) 'racism' is being incredible racist and disrespectful to the Danish people. Loxism. Jews are doing this.
