If you were in any way surprised about Trumps loyalty to Israel then you simply haven’t been paying attention to American politics or even Trumps first term. Trump tells you himself that he loves Israel, almost constantly. If this were the deal breaker you thought it was it would have stopped him the first time. I may not support Israel, you may not support Israel, but enough of the electorate either does, or cares more about other issues, to the extent that he has won the presidency (at least) twice. It’s not some supreme gotcha, and there’s no real, viable alternative to supporting Israel in mainstream American politics.
