I am the main character. There are only brief periods where something leaves me and I'm not the main character, instances which I've reduced down to essentially zero over the years. If I am subject to the will of anything other than me, I don't want to be here.

Your kids are the main motivation for your story, they're the main principal, but they aren't the main character.

Your kids are extremely important, but again your choices affect your life the most. This cannot be changed unless you become a passive wimp.

I think it’s a gradual realisation with age.

I turned 30 this year and my charisma and the way I perceive myself is almost completely opposite to who I was at 15-25

Maybe COVID also had a role cause socialising became so fucking hard at one point but I used to think I was the shit, that I would be a millionaire by 25 and felt super comfortable in my skin

Then battled some pretty hectic depression and even now deal with anxiety

I’m realising after some pretty tough and awkward years I hardly know who I am, if I wasn’t for being married I’d be lost completely

Although I do know that in the grand scheme of everything I am a speck. One cool thing about maturing with age is I really don’t care what most of anyone else thinks which is pretty nice
