Aka the core millenial years of dominating culture:

>David Guetta
>G4/Gamer/Dudebro fake culture
>EDM "party all day!!!" sound injected into everything
>Stomp clap hey civil war cosplay "indie"
>Clothes that have "SWAG" "YOLO" in big letters across them
>Every poser wannabe wearing an ILoveBoobies wristband
>The drastic YoungMoney fall off era of Lil Wayne and beginning of Drake
>Kids stop going outside and having any interests in anything altogether, in favor of sitting their house being overweight playing COD talking shit on Live drinking mountain dew
>End of fresh creative era of YouTube and social media and beginning of strategic monetization of these platforms and people turning them into careers
>Empty soulless Kpop starts influencing rollout and production of art worldwide
>Beginning of every movie becoming adhd slop rehashing and mixing superheros into any combination that can be thought up

My wife was reminding me of the time we first met at an off campus party, sometime in the winter before Christmas of '08. The party was hosted by a black guy and his sister who had a television set up with a wrestling PPV on in the background, it was the night Jeff Hardy won the WWE title. The only other black people at the party were skateboarders who wore skinny jeans and listened to MGMT.

We realized then talking about it that it's like our early 20s took place on another planet where race relations had been solved. Do any other millenals have trouble understanding where exactly things went so wrong, so quickly?

Obama was the beginning of the end. I'd say everything soundly went to shit around 2006-2007.

I mainly just think of life before smart phones and social media. Culture completely died along with the normalization of them both. Everything fucking sucks now and itโ€™s never going to get better.

I think life without the iPhone in particular lasted longer than we remember. I know that most of my friend circle was still on BBM in 2011. It was only until 2013ish or so where the iPhone became the standard. And that was when things really hit a steep decline.

It was great at the time because it didnt blow up to western folks as a whole for a couple of years. Shit, I remember listening to 4Minute in my car back in 2010!

Remember this jam? I think it was NYE 2010 where I was selling coke and going to several house parties which I distinctly heard this track everywhere.

Everyone looked so happy back then. I remember when this came on Hot97 and thought it was a joke given the gimmicky/lyrical nature of the track.
