What happened? Nothing retard, it isn't even meant to arrive until 2027, and you only heard about it a week ago. When it does finally arrive, in all likelihood nothing will happen anyway. Even if it is a probe from some far away alien force, they probably operate on timescales that would mean contact could be centuries away. After all that's the only way interstellar life "works". You'd set off, and maybe thirty generations from now your grandchildren make it to the destination. If that destination is another habitable planet, by time they reach it, they've probably changed so much that the idea of living on the ground would seem foreign and alien to them. Most would probably choose to stay on the ship. That's probably how we got it here, our ancestors chose to step off the ship, knowing that once it left we would never see them again, and if we did we'd never recognize each other.
