I know this is a pathetic thread but has anyone here used AI to teach themselves basic math? Whenever I would ask a teacher for help as a kid they would be upset with me. AI isn't upset with me when I need clarification or something simplified.

Why do we let bitter overpaid social rejects who couldn't get hired at Olive Garden have a stake in our children's future? Wouldn't AI teachers who only care about learning be an ethical replacement?

I just did some english on chatgpt the other day.
It was helpful. Just basic stuff like what words to capitalize and what a prefix and suffix and whatnot. So something like 'IS' is a verb and gets capitalized but WITH or FOR or TO or AT or those are prepositions and don't get capitalized UNLESS they are 5 letters or more like THROUGH but thats just stylistic and technically still grammatically wrong.

In the past I asked it for a way to do division in my head quickly. It said there was no way. Then I figured out how to do it myself. Fucking broken toaster lying judas fuck.

I used Wolfram Alpha back when it was free to learn basic calculus shit that wasn't making sense to me in class. This was over a decade ago. It showed all the steps to any basic algebra/calculus problem very clearly, which finally made it make sense when the lecture and textbook didn't.
But AI teachers would create a generation of fucked up kids. Remember when zoomers had to go to high school through zoom during COVID? It was only for a couple of years and it fucked up a lot of them.

To answer your question though, you can absolutely learn math on your own. You don't need AI for that, just find a curriculum you want to follow then look up the material on either youtube or khan academy.

I do want public schools replaced with digital schooling, but not with AI. AI is too wrong too often. We just need to develop lessons that incorporate videos and interactivity.

The problem is we are not sure how children will respond to learning from a machine. we are afraid that without face to face interaction with a human the brain wont absorb the knowledge currently. Especially pre puberty children are built to straight up imitate everything they are presented with but from a human.
