The Australian aborigines made their way to Australia via a land connection that linked it with southeast Asia during the ice age when sea levels were much lower. But not every single one of them crossed to Australia. Many black skinned people remained in southern Asia. Eventually Mongoloid peoples came down from the north and either interbred with them or replaced them but some pockets of pure dark melanated peoples remain in places.
Anyway, in the case of India, the Aryans invaded it from what is now Afghanistan. So the dark skinned people are a mix of that with the dark skinned Abbo types that were there first, as well as some Mongoloid admixture too because the Mongols and their descendants conquered parts of it and ruled it at times. Also Persians, Turkic peoples, and Arabs. Even Greeks too somewhat. Europeans like Portuguese, French, and especially British also left some mark too.
