When did the internet stop being organic?
>>512397370 (OP)2016 was when it became publicly inorganic so .. some time before that I'm guessing, generally speaking
About a week from now when everyone will be required to register their ID to post anywhere
>inb4 it always was
Anyone who has experience knows it was during the 2008 presidential primary season, and the months and years immediately after Obamas selection.
The internet became FILLED all of a sudden with "Its just because hes Black" posts, which was the prototype for 50 other things theyve spawned since then. Shit started killing internet discourse fast because it just pisses everyone off, and of course gets all types of nigger posters to post racist shit everywhere, so site admins start banning speech.
Sam you

Or is that just something people made up
2008, when the iphone got big and it was flooded with normalfag phone posters.
>>512397441Correct.
2007 was the last year of the old internet. 2008 was a strange transitionary period. 2009 was give or take the entry point of today's internet; curated and manufactured.
>>512397908>2008>iphone got bigMost people had button dumbphones, sliding phones or even flips back in '08. Having an iPhone was rare as fuck. I knew only 1 person who had one in '08 and his Dad was a millionare tech nerd.
>>512397370 (OP)Well, homestar definitely was organic though. This makes no sense
>>512397660It was apparent then and I definitely remember that, but it was before that after 9/11 on the more out there forums with the topic of 'hate' in general.
>>512399390Damn, is that why that's the last year I got laid?
>>512397908It didn't get big until 3G connections became affordable in 2010.
>>512397370 (OP)When little independent forums started to be replaced by social media. The cancer was there from the moment MySpace was created but it didn't go metastatic until the late 00's. It was inoperable by the time MLP became popular.
>>512400826That was just the first phase.
We're in the second phase now, where every bit of useful info that is shared is hidden behind months worth of shitty memes and chatting on Discord servers.
>>512398247>>512399991Okay fine, I remember it coming out and being popular thern, maybe it was only techfags, but regardless, the internet started getting shittier around 08. I'm more that happy to hear the culprit if you think the iphone had nothing to do with the normalfag influx.
