Like, you can't buy an American laptop so you're going to burden Chinese laptop with tariffs that will be paid either by consumers or the importer will have to eat up the difference, bad for domestic economy either way.
The big problem here is that Americans STILL don't understand how tariffs work, kind of like here when VAT was introduced but it took like a month for even the dumbest fucks to figure it out yet American officials still spout "China will pay tariffs" nonsense, so they are either dumb as fuck or lying to the dumb population.
