The internet as we know it changed over the last 10 years. Everything is clickbait because people are incentivized to post things to get interactions and make money from the level of interaction they get.

This drives content to be far more extreme, and people to post information before confirming whether or not it's true. And truth becomes a non factor when it comes to rage baiting on platforms like tiktok where people will put an insane background prompt and then get people to argue w\ them in hopes people donate money.
