And if it does happen, will they go door to door to deprive potential wrong doers of guns? Or will they shrimply allow it to happen to justify more gun control (meaning that you effectively discredit gun owners by commiting domestic terrorism and assassinations with a gun)

a small town is potentially a smaller militia. if you think most americans would fight to keep their guns you're mistaken. a single military roadblock that'll deprive them of water or other necessities and the majority will turn the gun on the minority that is trying to fight the national guard/army.
