The texts that make up "the bible" were picked and chosen by a council, after the fact. They left stuff out and edited what they put in. Some of it is fanfiction of older texts that were not included. Some of it is propaganda that is now wildly out of date but made or broke some theological politician's career at the time.

Not totally. There are parts of the New Testament translated out of Erasmus's retranslation into Greek from Latin. Besides, the Masoretic texts used for the OT often remove pieces favorable to Jesus because it was Jewish. NASB 1995 uses every text we have today.

There is no absolute best translation because these languages often don't translate easily. I agree that those less literal versions are bad but literal translations with some research are the best you can get without the original language.

You don't have to go directly to the Nestle-Aland. Most texts are available online and they cite their sources for texts. Biblical manuscripts are the most common book to survive antiquity so building one combining all of them is a hard task and will have some dissenters. I studied Greek at a graduate level and have read it quite a bit so I understand the issues. It's also why they're coming out with a 29th version soon. They try to make it as accurate as possible but there are points of failure.

How do you mentally juggle with the fact that bible is causing divides and confusion? When reading scripture, there is always doubt (no matter how small) if what you're reading is correct. Now you could say KJVO deal with that by staying willfully ignorant of "new scrolls", but wouldn't it make sense there would be 1 true bible? And the KJV has been translated into many other languages that I believe are God inspired true word.

I'm not disagreeing with you necessarily, but I am open.

You are misquoting a verse about proper order during worship to support your narrative, read the context. God can use different translations to effectively spread the Gospel. That doesn't have to build disorder as long as there is an understanding that we are working with a translation from multiple manuscripts. The only thing is that because we are sinful and divided often, that won't happen. Having a specific Bible translation doesn't save, that's Jesus

Christianity pre-dates the creation of the Bible by several centuries. Millions of Christians lived and died during the first 400 years of Christianity’s existence not knowing what a Bible was because no such thing existed. The Bible is a tool to help you better understand Christianity. It’s not something you are supposed to turn into an idol.
