Companies only need like 20% of the employees to be builders and innovators. After that, what's left is menial administrative tasks and having faces to interact with vendors, clients, and customers. Women are better at and more content with that 80% of the workload.
Furthermore, men have no choice but to climb. Which means they're competitive with one another. Egos clash, people jump ship, etc. While women are basically happy just to have an office job and somewhere to go during the day so long as the people are nice to them and the workload isn't overwhelming.
