It's clearly a fake smile because with real smiles your muscles will naturally coordinate together (you get things like crows feet because of it). With fake smiles people are just pulling very specific muscles around the mouth. Any photo I've seen of him spammed on the internet has *always* been a fake smile.

The fake smile itself seems to be an American thing, but I think over the course of enough photos your average American will have at least a few genuine smiles in there. This guy has none because he's a fake.

Something I've learned is that if you look at any industry (corporate, medical, education, government, etc) the people who make the big bucks aren't the people that do the work but the people who make the decisions. Your rank and worth are directly related to what size decisions you are allowed to make. If you make good decisions, you get to make bigger decisions.
