This is correct. I live in LA and make $175k/year working as an engineer for the county. That's right, a government job. Pension, great benefits, security, the works. And I'm in my late-30s, not some boomer who has 35 years under his belt.

That same job in Ohio would pay like $70k. Less than half. Even adjusting for taxes and CoL, I make way more money here in Cali. Its not even close. Housing prices in Cali are higher, but that's about it. I already own my house outright, and everything else is pretty similar.

Why not just increase the total number of reps to 1700 as per one interpretation of the Congressional Apportionment Amendment, make every district multi-member, either 5, 7 or 9 seats per district, depending on the size, then use Single Transferable Vote to elect members in each district proportionally? If you want a proper rifle you have to have it be featureless so you can’t have a collapsible stock and you have to have a cuck fin on it. I don’t volunteer anymore it was pretty depressing the paradise fires were terrible just bodies in burnt out cars all lined up from people who couldn’t evacuate since there is only one road going out of town. It was very sad but maybe if there was another big fire up here I would again since they need people. I was trying to get my firefighter 1 at the time that is where you do enough volunteering to get on a proper department but that shit made me reconsider.
