We know most Americans are descended from German, English, Dutch, Irish, Italian, Welsh, Scottish, Polish, etc.
However, when Americans attempt to identify with these nations they are mocked and called mutt LARPers.
If an American raises the flag of England, Ireland, Germany, Poland, Italy etc he is called a stupid yank and told these nations are nothing to do with him and he should mind his own business.
All of this is unthinkable to say to an Arab. The Arab might be born and raised in the West but his primary concern is what's going on in the Arab world. A British-born Iraqi is still Iraqi first. You'll find him arguing for hours about the Shia and Iranian militias, and his primary concern is corruption, assassinations, elections IN Iraq, not Britain.
Nobody calls that Iraqi a LARPing idiot who is a Brit that has never been to Iraq. His claim to an Iraqi and Arab identity is accepted as absolutely right and normal. Nobody sees him as fake even if he's never been there.
Likewise it's completely normal for a French-born North African to care about North Africa and see it as his land. Yemenis who have never set foot in Yemen can post from London about "my beautiful Yemen" and nobody will mock them as a LARPing fools.
So why are Americans not allowed to claim and yearn for their original homelands but Arabs are?
