3. The original status quo in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip was fine. Escalation is okay if soldiers don't die.
So even if there are protests and disagreement on the prospect of occupying and holding Gaza to find the hostages, there is still board agreement on the core issues. It is important to remember this evening: Israel has already operated in Gaza. We were in the same places and even then they announced that we were one step away from victory and that Israel intended to defeat Hamas. Therefore, the bottom line is, the citizens of Israel need to ask themselves what will happen this time that hasn't happened before and how is it possible that after so long we are back at the same point.
