I’m honestly pissed off at Trump over some things, some of the biggest ones are the Epstein scandal, the COVID-19 lockdown/vaccine fiasco (note: Biden I think was still worse because more of it happened under him, and he was more aggressive m in urging the lockdown measures and vax mandates for federal workers or contractors, and that filtered down to influencing the policies of many businesses and universities and schools, while Trump at least supported not locking down so strongly, although he praised and urged the vaccine and bragged about how he was responsible for Operation Warp Speed, but at least didn’t openly support forced mandates of it), and of course his ultra-Zionism, at worst pushing us towards greater foreign entanglements that could be to our detriment, warmongering with Iran like the strike on Soleimani, and the bombing of their nuclear bases. Although their nuclear base thing was really weird, with the whole “We’re gonna give you warning of the strikes we’re gonna do”, and Iran also doing the same, so I wonder if it wasn’t actually some ballsy bizarre form of de-escalation. And I at least give Trump credit for calling out Israel in the conflict too.

OK, so, with all of that, I also wonder if maybe it’s just not as black and white as some see it to be. Trump might be a fag or corrupt bloviating buffoon on some issues, but at least he’s actually further right on some other issues, pushing the Overton window of societal discourse to allow more right-wing and even “conspiracy theory” views, and actually doing something (or trying to) about immigration, which at minimum still IS doing something and might frighten and scare off more migrants wanting to illegally flood the country. Which is at least a damn sight better than what Biden and his admin did with regards to immigration.
