I stay cool in the sun by wearing a broad-brimmed hat and staying near running water (install a fountain in your yard - itโll drop the air temperature by 10 degrees easily)
That and shade trees. In my new neighborhood there were already hundred year old walnut trees, but in my old one I bought and planted pawpaws. They had grown about 8 feet tall by the time I moved out, and setting a chair next to them kept you cool.
