>>512779688 (OP)In 2000 the Chinese boats were rotting, ex-Soviet junk that had been gifted to them.
In 2010 they were small, Chinese built copies of commercial American boats.
In 2020 they were Chinese built cutters that were made using mostly western parts.
In 2025 they're modern destroyers designed and built entirely in China.
The Philippine navy boat is a repurposed consumer pleasure boat.
Looking at shit like this and laughing is just laughing at your own extinction. Mistakes are part of the process of improvement, and the Chinese have the willpower and economic ability to absorb mistakes. They learn from those mistakes and the next time this situation occurs the mistake doesn't happen.
The Chinese navy will take less than two weeks to figure out what happened here and how to prevent it from happening. Part of this will be by incorporating improvements into the design of any boats currently under construction - such as by adding additional maneuvering thrusters or improving their collision warning and avoidance system. Five years from now the boats will be bigger, better, designed and built entirely in China.
If this happened in the US Navy there would be a minimum of 5 years of committees, hearings, and reports. The helmshuman would be a gay black woman and no one would want to insinuate that shi did anything wrong, so the final committee report will stress lack of attentiveness training and crew overwork as the primary factors, followed by a recommendation that all helm decisions must be approved by at least 3 supervising officers before being executed, further reducing the ability of ships to avoid this situation in the future.
The US currently isn't building new destroyers and, by the time that it does, the 26 committees tasked with drawing up engineering requirements will too busy options trading on Robinhood to do any real work, so the Navy will just buy the rights to an outdated and inappropriate design from some shit European country.
