>>512800025 (OP)>reading comprehension of a toasted slice of breadYour very screenshot doesn't say "not bad" but "not SO bad". Slavery is bad, and no one sane is going to deny that (though arguments can be made for other forms of servitude, but that's beside the point).
Fact is, however, that slavery almost never was as bad as it is depicted in modern leftwing media. To name just one example, it was never legal in the US to kill a "slave" without a fair trial. And if you're wondering why I put "slave" in quotes: legally, they were indentured servants, not slaves, and supposed to be freed after they'd repaid either their debt (in case of voluntary migrants, mostly from China and England) or the fine placed upon them (for convicted criminals, rebels and POWs, mostly from Africa, Ireland and Scotland). Though it didn't take long for a master (a black one, btw) to use some legal loopholes to argue that the master was the one deciding when the debt was repaid, which effectively turned the 5-10 year servitude contracts into lifelong maloching. But still, those servants had far more rights than the slaves in the belgian colonies, for example.
