thats the MASSIVE ADVANCE< ITS OVER> thing thats making headlines..... germans averaged like 80 km per day during barbarrosa.
this is 10 km in 2 days
>>512859701 (OP)Its not the 1940s anymore. There's drones and satellites now making it impossible for a German style blitzkrieg to happen again.

>>512859701 (OP)To put in perspective, it's about 1% of the entire width of Ukraine in that timespan. And if you just measure distance between the frontline and the capital, it's more like 3% (you would generally expect collapse once you overtake the capital)

As warfare technology progresses, the speed of invasion decreases. Logistics get more compoicated and it is easier to disrupt them. Pic rel is chatgoypt. Feel free to do your own research.

The 10km gap is the distance between Russia and Ukraine's lines. These troops crossed no man's land, met the first trenchline, took selfies and then went radio silent (I wonder why).
>why is there a 10km gap between the two lines
Because of drones and artillery, mainly. You can't operate safely in trenches without some kind of ECM protecting you from endless FPVs, and those ECM systems need to be far enough back that they don't just get slapped by barrel artillery. It's possible to precisely locate the position of jammers through signal intelligence. This has created a general average of 10-15km of no man's land between both sides as the war has progressed. Assault groups cross this No Man's Land to carry out attacks.
Obviously this is a nothingburger, with no actual evidence corroborating any kind of claims to newly captured territory in this direction. Russian shills are trying to manufacture some kind of propaganda victory ahead of the summit in Alaska because there's nothing on the ground to actually brag about.
