Also, isnโ€™t it in the interest of Trump to have a precedent for invading countries, then make a peace deal in which land is incorporated into the US.

Greenland, parts of Canada, parts of Mexico and Cuba come to mind.

Probably yes. However it is a totally pointless war which costs more Russia than they can gain with the new territories in a century. Zelensky was a just a random Eastern European liberal with some Western backing before the war, hardly a serious threat to the Russian interests in the region.

It is not about territories. Putin wants to be seen as a winner in Russia and the world. It is his legacy and also cements his leadership role in Russia (he has known his whole life that a revolt can rather quickly lead to his imprisonment and death).

Putin needs the 4 provinces that the Russian parliament and constitution has annexed into Russia. He cannot legally give up Russian land under Russian law - so he must get all the territoy in pic related.

Europeans are so obsessed with the idea of "winning" that they can't see the grey area. War is black and white to them. In between the White (winning) , and the black (losing) you're losing the (grey) the millions who lost their own lives. But you can't see the 1 million, 2 million , possibly 10 million that lose their lives. You just see territory on a map and the title screen you win / you lose.

Europeans would rather lose another 10 million lives to gain 50 miles of land and it's ridiculous.

Because modern EU is fucking retarded.

Both the EU and NATO nowadays only care about getting more members without thinking of the consequences. However due to how those insitutions work, unless they accept a member that's 100% aligned with the central ideology and on similar level of economy/military, any new member will be a net negative. Hungary isn't even the worst member, just the most vocal and annoying.

You fags better hope Russia never lets Ukraine join the EU. It unironically be the final nail in the coffin. That shithole will drag western Europe down to the point of collapse.
