You have French Africa, and then Nigeria. I'm bullish on Nigeria and Ethiopia as viable states in the long term, but it will take a century for them to dig themselves out of the holes they dug themselves into. French Africa is one of the nicer portions of the continent. They have the same issue most of Africa has. Their borders don't make sense, their leadership would rather burn the country than cooperate with other tribes, and they use colonialism as an excuse for corruption loosely masked as poor economic planning. Should they stay under French rulership? Probably. African leadership couldn't run a lemonade stand, and until that changes, nothing will get better.

This Alliance of Sahel States is a pretty interesting development. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the first military alliance between post-colonial African countries. Really curious where this thing goes, I guess their first challenge is clearing the terrorist infested areas.
