when I was a kid they used to try and sell the idea of giving our old crap like toys or shoes to Africa. at the time I wondered why they didn't just remove Africa, because even my child brain could realize that the donations and aid weren't helping. i figured that by removing the continent of Africa with its people and filling it in with a ocean, the issue of starving kids would go away.
