If elites are corrupt or selfish inside nations, why wouldn't they be in a world government? I see nations as democracy, and a world government as a dictatorship seeking to centralize all power.
Maybe elites should do a better job instead of blaming systems and seeking to turn the world into russia. A single government is easier to corrupt than 200, and if one is corrupted, the others can either fix it or destroy it. All the eggs in one basket is rigid, unflexible and brittle. There is a reason our body isnt made of one giant cell, mutual maintenance and damage control.
how are the champions of democracy and checks and balances asking to remove all of that? Which villages would have its houses better taken care of, a village where everyone owns their house, or a village where every house belongs to everyone? Not that ownership prevents people from helping each other. ownership and invidivual cells leverage self interest and accountability for the better.
