Manufacturers did layoffs because sof supply line issues. Higher proces reduce sales and therefore profits so businesses do layoffs. Lack of migrant workers causes fruits and vegetables to rot in fields reducing sales at retail, more layoffs. Cutting the America Recovery act saw tradesmen from whey sector go on unemployment. Farmers are on suicide watch because they have tariffs on onions wheat and corn.

I almost forgot to mention unnecessary layoffs. The large tech companies and VCs have captured the tech labor market to such a degree that they can squeeze tech workers by the balls as much as they want.
