Because women have an infantile interpretation of power. If you ask what the patriarchy is, for example, to any woman, she'll loosely define it as "men run everything and women don't have a say". They won't define it for what it is. They think power comes with responsibility, but power IS a responsibility. The Patriarchy is that men are responsible for the safety and welfare of the family, meaning the women and children are under his authority so he can better ensure their general wellbeing.
Women have an interpretation of "power" the same way children do. Children think it's unfair that adults can go to bed whenever they want and get to eat as much ice cream as they like, not realizing all the responsibility that comes with it.
Essentially, women are children, and if you give them power they will immediately abuse it and think they're better than you.
